Daniel is a small poor boy from a small poor town. His father used to fish, but he doesn't have time to anymore. Yet Daniel still fishes, and he dreams of one day making the Catch to be remembered. His wishes remain wistful daydreams, until he happens upon something extremely unusual- a small whale, lost and confused, has ended up in the river that flows past his town! Daniel and the whale, whom Daniel names "Roland," immediately become friends and decide to go on a journey together. Could this little whale possibly be the ticket to making Daniel's dream come true?

Elise Ketch is a student at Forest Park High School. She is a poet and a novelist, not to mention an award-winning painter. Elise is energized by the bustle of the city, but finds sanctuary and inspiration from nature. She enjoys fantasy and contemplating the impossible.
