Author Bio

Kristinia DeBarge is an American singer-songwriter. Her father, James DeBarge, was a founding member of the 1980s R&B family group DeBarge. Kristinia first appeared on national television in 2003 as a contestant on the American Idol spin-off, American Juniors.































































Her debut album, Exposed was released on July 28, 2009 to positive reviews. It debuted at #23 on Billboard 200. Her first single “Goodbye” peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming a top 20 hit.































































How Joe The Monkey was written by Kristinia for a 7th grade school project. Kristina hopes that young readers will be inspired to pursue their goals and dreams no matter what obstacles they may encounter. She lives in California with her dog, Gizmo and her cat, Mango.
