Lillian Rose really, really, really wants a pet turtle. Her teacher has a dog. Her friends have a cat and a hamster. But Lillian Rose is determined she wants a turtle. Her Mimi tells her that she had one at her age but does not give pet turtles glowing reviews. Still, Lillian Rose is determined. Her wise Dad decides to take her to the huge pet store to see ALL the pets there. He advises her to think before choosing. When her teacher announces there will be a Show and Tell, Lillian Rose finally goes with her Dad and Mom and chooses her pet---a surprise ending as she takes it out of the box to show her classmates!

Dee Gregory was born and raised on Long Island, New York but now resides in Fleming Island, Florida with her Air Force veteran husband. She is a retired secretary, preschool teacher, artist, writer and illustrator. This is her second children’s book, written for her granddaughters who inspired this story of many actual conversations and events. Dee has been a writer and artist all of her adult life. She delighted children with her instant drawings and used her talent to enhance her teaching skills. She has written extensively to family and friends from storytelling to putting her pen to her family’s legacy. Those she loves will attest to the fact that writing is Dee’s “love language.”
