On September 28, 2013, there was a gathering of wondrous friends and family who came to celebrate another trip around the sun with Hue-be Gilchrist on his birthday!
It was a wonderful celebration of energy and enthusiasm, courage and survival with love and compassion. Hue-be represents far more than his representation of a memorable human being. He is an inspiration, a mentor and a catalyst for many people. He helps them to jump start their lives and to gather their resources to shine their inner light out into the world with great exuberance and delight!

Hubert Gilchrist was raised from the age of two by his Grandmother and Grandfather on a farm in North Carolina. He loved hiding in the garden, studying the insects, and especially the honey bees, traveling from flower to flower.
"It was then that I decided that I would be a human being that was close to nature. A human who was being human as naturally as a bee was being a bee," says Hue-be. "Thus I became a free spirit, an artist and a poet."
Hue-be S.S. (Shining Star) has lived most of his adult life in the vicinity of the Monterey Peninsula, CA. He has gathered a wide cadre of friends that love and cherish him.
"Living is an art," is one of Hue-be's favorite quotes. So, when he decided to celebrate his birthday in Sept. 2013, he asked each person to bring a poem or quote they liked or had written to share with everyone present. Thus we have this delightful book of photos and writings to remember that evening and all the participants who joined in celebrating life and friendship.
