Description
One of the last instructions Jesus gave His disciples before He ascended to the right hand of the Father is found in Matthew 28:18-20. He said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The Greek word that is used for making disciples in this passage is “matheteuo”, which means “to make a disciple, to teach, to instruct.” Jesus never commanded us to make converts, that’s His job. He alone is our salvation. We share the good news of the Gospel, and the Lord gives birth in mankind's heart through His word of truth (see James 1:18). He then turns to those of us who are already following Him and says, “Raise these little lambs for Me.” This is where we, the church, have fallen miserably short.

In the area of early childhood development, recent research in the field of neuroscience has revealed the connection between proper nurturing and guidance and a child's well being. Neuroscience research now shows us that a baby is born with billions of neurons that will, over the first three to four years, form trillions of connections called synapses to form eight neural pathways. The synapses, or connections, develop especially fast in the first three years of life in response to stimuli such as someone talking to, singing to, reading to, or playing with the infant or toddler. How we react to future life experiences, apart from the intervention of the Spirit of God, is largely determined by the pathway that is established in our brain through early experiences. This is why proper early interaction, and more important, positive parental involvement, is absolutely critical for our children and society.

It's the same in the church. Neglecting the commands of Christ concerning the nurturing and care of our “toddlers,” our new disciples, and in particular within the first three years (I discuss this biblical principle in greater detail), has resulted in many "learning" and "reasoning" deficiencies (lack of discernment) amongst our disciples.

Through many other insights I show God's way of creating a healthy spiritual family where all members are involved, actively engaged in the care and nurture of one another. This is not an option, but the commands of the Lord to lovingly take care of His sheep.

The witchcraft of Babylon, the harlot church, has created a "me first" mentality in the church that is destroying our young sheep. We must repent and truly become our brother's keeper lest we shrink back in shame when called upon to give an account to the Lord for the mishandling of His little ones.

The breakdown of the family unit in our society is a reflection of the breakdown within the family of God. Christ will be manifested to this world through His mature Body when the individual members are properly working together through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. If we do not repent of our self-seeking ways, God's judgment will soon fall. We are already under His judgment, not making the spiritual connection between our sin and the ever- increasing wicked condition of our land. Turn now church while the doors of His mercy are still open. The exploitation and manipulation of His little sheep for self-gratification will soon be confronted. Woe to the shepherds who are destroying the sheep of His pasture!

Author Bio

My wife, Shelley, and I have five children and have been married for 30 years. On January 19, 2004, she experienced a major stroke at the age of 44 that almost claimed her life. This dramatic experience changed our lives forever, setting the course for a "higher" calling.

A couple of months later, after receiving an ultimatum from my employer to commit long term or be indefinitely laid off, I left my job as a tool designer. In my heart I knew that the Lord was calling me to come work full time for Him.

We have been entrusted with a "trumpet-like" ministry to awaken the sleeping Bride in America. We must prepare our hearts to meet our Heavenly Bridegroom. The power of God that resurrected my bride is a sign of the power of God that will also resurrect His Bride. Though she appears in our nation to be almost dead, like Shelley was, she too will be revived through the difficult circumstances that are soon coming upon her.

The days ahead for our nation, as well as the entire world, are going to be extremely difficult. They will be used to expose the true condition of our hearts. Their purpose is to purify and prepare the chosen Bride of Christ. Our prayer is that the revelation of His truth in this time would be used to stir you up with a fresh determination to submit to the Holy Spirit's leading in your life, and to walk in holiness and purity in preparation to meet the Lord.

We must get ready to go behind the veil where no flesh will glory in His presence. Praise the Lord for the great things He is accomplishing in our day for His name's sake.

Serving Jesus Christ,
Tim Bauer
