Her roles have included special education teacher, university professor, senior researcher and international consultant. A two-time Fulbright scholar, Dr. Shatty is a strong advocate for children's literacy, global education and cultural and linguistic competence. She is a children's author focusing on stories about African American children, specifically girls, their challenges and triumphs. The series will offer spiritual solutions to everyday problems.
