I was born to Gloria and Augustus Sandifer (Gump)on June 28, 1948. As a little girl I grew up in a home filled with love and the smell of good cooking. I watched my mother and grandmother (Big Mama) prepare hearty meals that you could smell cooking a block away. They didn't use cookbooks and measuring utensils; it was a little dab of this and a little dab of that. Everything I know about cooking I learned from them. I have enjoyed preparing the same dishes for my family and friends that my mother and grandmother prepared for me. Christmas was always a special time when we prepared a dinner of everyone's favorites. And so, it is at Christmas that I remember all those good times and continue the legacy.
