Mike is the seventh of 10 children and was raised in rural Brown County, Ohio by his mother Buelah. Born and raised on a farm, hard work and family were core principles to his rearing. Mike went on to marry is high school sweetheart, Lori Polley. Mike and Lori share three children: Brandi, Michael and Brittani.
