From a young age I have always loved to bake. I remember watching my grandma in the kitchen and smelling her banana bread or brownies and loving spending that time with her. She would make it to give to family and I think that's where my love for baking came from. I never thought of doing a cookbook, I just loved to bake and fgive it away or do bakesales for fundraisers.

My Life changed on March 4th 2011. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer and was heart broken and angry. Mostly because I have a 8 year old son and I was only 37. I have great friends and family and I had to leave my job to fight this disease. Over the years I would bake and bring the goodies into work about three times a week and I miss doing that and although I am sure the weight has dropped off for some of my coworkers, I missed being able to bring them the treats and see how much they enjoyed whatever it was that i brought in. And figuring out what everyones favorite treat was.

So this is why I am doing the cookbook. If I cannot be in the office bringing the treats, at least I can provide the recipes that they love and hopefully they will find the time to make their favorites and bake them for their loved ones.

If these recipes warms the hearts of the ones who bake them and who they make it for than for me it's just as rewarding if I was baking it myself.
