I am a 25 year old female in the United states Air Force. I have been an Aeromedical Evacuation Technician for 6 years and have deployed 2 times: Iraq and Afghanistan. I wanted to create a book that is easy to read and to understand about what it is i do in a war environment. It is a different take on war and what kids usually associate war with. I want to express the good and bad that is seen here and not what kids only hear from their parents or the news. I will attempt to show kids what happens to their dad, brother, uncle, aunt, or mom after they become injured from an accident, shooting, an attack.. and how we heal them and get them home safely to their loved ones.
