I was never taught to cook so I learned as a new bride with my Betty Crocker Cookbook. I read that thing like it was a novel. Over the years I gathered recipes from friends as cookbooks weren't that great. It wasn't until James Beard published his cookbook that I caught on to the printed recipes available. Of course, the internet opened up all sorts of possiblities. I love collecting recipes of all kinds.
