I'm using this to tell the story behind my quote. I was 11 years old and my dad told me to turn on the crock pot. I never worked on, but he said it was easy, so I went for it. I plugged in the crock pot, but not only did I do that, but I thought I also had to turn the stove on. I smelled burning rubber and I started to back away from the crock pot. It's a good thing I did, because it was engulfed in flames in a matter of seconds. So, I casually walked outside and told my dad that I caught the crock pot on fire. At first he didn't believe me, until he saw black smoke coming from the house. We had to get a new crock pot and the house smelled like burnt rubber for a week. To this day, I'm not allowed near crock pots.
