Sonya M. Umble was a shy child that developed the love of reading at an early age. Sonya began writing poetry and short stories as a means of self-expression. Zena is the first children's book that she has authored. Sonya is the proud parent of her daughter, Gabrielle who inspired this story to be written. Sonya is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and she is a third grade teacher.
