One day butterfly eggs were laid on a leaf
A caterpillar emerged and then...
the caterpillar spun into a chrysalis.
Then out from the chrysalis came...
a beautiful butterfly named Lilly.
Her wings had to dry in the wind first.
Then she could spread them to the sun.
Her cousin, Emily also dried her new wings
As well as her cute little sister, Zoe!
Their beautiful wings were so colourful.
Lilly wondered, "Could they really fly?"
Emily and Lilly were going to try together
So Lilly stood facing the breeze.
And spread her wings and she could fly!
Around the yard she flew!
As fast as the wind, she flew!
With her cousin , Emily, she flew!
Now to rest for a moment before the dance.
Oh look, we shall dance a Butterfly Dance!
We spread our beautiful wings in a circle.
And then join our wings together in unity.
In a joyful circle of love, we dance.
We form a star, bright and beautiful.
And dance with delight!
Time to drink nectar from the sunflowers.
And sip water from the fountain.
Let us all rest, with Grandma, Emily and I
Let us rest with cousin butterflies...
and Grandma butterflies as the sun sets.
Each new day brings grace and beauty,
and we fold our wings and say "Good Night"
