In Washington, DC exactly 80 years after the sorority’s founders, 76 women chartered Rho Mu Omega Chapter on October 30, 1988. As a chapter, Rho Mu Omega has actively organized and participated in community and sorority activities under the various International Program themes. Some of the chapter’s many successful activities include scholarships to local high school students, an annual Black College Tour, a partnership with the Luke C. Moore Academy High School, which includes Positive Images workshops for students, Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets and gifts for needy families and students; shopping trips, movie days, birthday and holiday celebrations with the senior citizens at Stoddard Baptist Home, support of the NCNW Black Family Reunion, and Loaves and Fishes, a volunteer food program for homeless men and women at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church, in Washington, DC. years of service to the Washington metropolitan area community. As the pearls on its necklace grow, Rho Mu Omega continues to work diligently as it strives to be of SERVICE TO ALL MANKIND.
