Melanie Lennon Bernstein was born and raised in San Francisco. At a young age, she became fascinated with all aspects of food and eating. She discovered Chowhound in early 2005 thanks to her uncle, Bill Bernstein, and has been chronicling her food life ever since. Melanie currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her fiancee.
