About Author:
Aalani Renee began her poetic journey in Oakland, California. In this escapade she found her love for poetry. Starting as dancer for the Punany Poets touring under the name âSouthern Comfortâ, she began to understand that writing was a release of bound up emotion, she could definitely identify with that. As of 2002 she began writing and touring with the Punany Poets, to strengthen her talent. Returning to North Carolina in 2004 she struck out on her own to establish a name for herself in the poetic industry, thence the birth of Aalani-Renee. Given that start by well known poet Bluz on the No Limit Larry Morning Show as a guest poet, she began to venture out to later perform on cable channel 21 on shows such as, North Carolinaâs Got Talent and co-hosting Soulful Expressions. Later performing for North Carolinaâs For Sisterâs Only Festival, Charlotteâs Literary Festival, and being featured in the Punany Poets, âVerbal Penatration and the Hip Hop Psalmsâ.
She has currently opened Purple Passion Poetry, a private party event that host poetry parties in all settings as well and Purple Passion Poetry Prodigies a youth organization that provides information and quality care of youth inspiring to be poets. Also, completing her first album âAalani-Renee, The Poetic Hustletteâ.
Her testimony states simply this, âPoetry Is My Ministryâ. Giving her interpretation of a southern womenâs perception of love, sex, society and politics, not afraid of what people may think, only afraid that they wonât listen.
