Catrice Estelle Smedley born on June 1, 1990 in Dallas, Texas and is a senior at Huston-Tillotson University. Her major is Education. She was a member of the Pre-Alumni Counsel, Quiet Storms (poetry club), Huston-Tillotson University Concert Choir, Gospel Choir, a peer advisor, and she is the ministry leader of Prayer Warriors, E.W.E., Ms. UNCF, Ms. Black Central Texas, Family Ties, and psychology club.
She is the daughter of Tedra Smedley and Reginald Smedley and the granddaughter of Ella Pearl Mooring and Willie Bruce Mooring. She also has one younger sibling Stephan Smedley.
Already at the age of four she was a model, ballerina, and tap dancer all at once and when it was time to start school she turned out to be very eloquent. Her teachers recognized her intellect and began placing her in public speaking programs in front of faculty and staff at the tender age of 6. While in elementary school she represented (John Neely Elementary School) she participated in the Dallas All City choirs and she decided to play the clarinet in the school band until she graduated from high school. In high school she was a part of DECA, people’s production, and F.C.C.L.A.
She is also active in her church at home. Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church which she states is a beautiful church to become enriched and to be in the Lord. Ms. Smedley was a member of the choir, a praise dancer, the junior hospitably ministry, and an overall volunteer whenever needed.
At the age of 13 she knew already what she wanted to do with her life which was to help the children of the world embrace knowledge and love it.

At the age 21 she still wants to help the children with knowledge by becoming a teacher by the age of 22 and have my own school devoted to the arts by the age of 40.
