About the Book

Children, along with their families and member of The Bocilla Islands Conservancy, gathered at the Eco-Environmental Island Conservancy Property (EPIC) in the fall of 2019, to learn about two invasive trees, the Brazilian Pepper and the Australian Pine. There is a significant difference in the appearances and plant growth on the west side of the property vs the east side. The cause of the difference is the invasive trees that choked out the understory plants, creating a barren area. The children noticed this and called the trees aliens and invaders. This "discovery" led to the story in this book.
