The author was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Maine in 2004. In Maine, surrounded by nature, she quickly developed an interest in gardening. She also grew to appreciate gardening more due to Maine's shorter growing season. In 2011, she signed up for Greenwood Herbal's Apprenticeship Program and received a certificate under the direction of Herbalist Debbie Mercier.
She learned that all the medicine we need in order to maintain and improve our health is around us as gifts from Mother Nature. Fascinated by the openness of children, this book was created in the hopes of educating future generations about the importance of these herbs so they too can learn about natural healing alternatives sooner rather than later.
