About the Book

Mrs. Viola Adams James was born on D-Day, June 6th 1944 to the late Sam Adams and Ella Bell Adams. She is the 2nd of six girls, Patricia Dreher, Tina Garvin, and Earnistine Chavis. She also has two late sisters, Bernice and Shirley.

Viola had 5 children; Violet Teresa, Sammie Myrick, Josey Lee, Robert Anthony, and Kenneth Lee.

She was also blessed with 10 grand children, (Violet) Christal and Antoine. (Sammy) Mercedes and Tequella. (Josey) Joey, Victoria, Victor, Rhonda, and Jasper; and over 23 great-grand children.

Viola has been married twice, Sammie Myrick,(1964-1973) and Robert Edward James (1975-1982).

Viola was born in the Good Samaritian Hospital in Columbia, SC. She was a resident of the Wilconson Children's home cir. 1952-1963. She was also a member of the family's church Friendship Baptist Church at 1237 House St, Columbia, SC 29204.

As an adult, Viola has opened her modest home to over 30 homeless youth and families who thank her for her unselfishness.

Dr. Violet Teresa Adams is a published author and a 26 year veteran educator. Dr. Adams' professional focus is the development of curriculum and instruction that meets the personalized needs of all students. Her research includes The instructional preferences of Secondary Students and the Creative Learning Principles.

This gifted author is also a visual artist who's original works feature dynamic portraits and iconic political statements. These award winning works of arts have been shown at Georgia State University, the Apache Cafe, the Dalton Arts Center, and the APEX Museum in addition to various art shows and contests.

Dr Ellis is an award winning Toastmaster, (ALB, ACG), a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, and a member of Greenforest Community Baptist Church.

Daughter to Viola Adams James and the late Charles Davis and mother to Christal and Antoine Gibson.

Dr. Ellis currently working to open a Private Boarding school for low income high achievers by year 2024
