Muffy and Tripp are two all-American WASPs...

Muffy was born Margaret Elizabeth Smythe to her parents, Caroline and Charles P. Smythe IV. She grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Connecticut, where she was a varsity athlete in both field hockey and lacrosse, and elected Student Body President her senior year. Following in her father's footsteps, she went on to Yale University. There she double-majored in History of Art and French. She was also Social Chair of the Yale College Republicans, an editor for the Yale Daily News and a member of the coed sailing team. She is currently a Senior Politics Editor for Fox News in New York and an active supporter of the GOP and a number of local charities.

Tripp was born Hartwell Locke MacAllister III to parents Liddy and Hartwell L. MacAllister II. He grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and spent his summers at their family home in Sea Island, Georgia. He attended Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, where he was a three-sport athlete in varsity tennis, hockey and lacrosse. He was also a member of the school's debate team. His athletic success led him to be recruited by the University of Virginia men’s lacrosse team, where he was named a captain and three-time All-American. He graduated with a degree in Government and went on to get his MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business. He currently works as a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley in Washington, DC.

Muffy and Tripp were introduced by their parents at a political fundraiser in 2009. They became fast friends and ended up spending the following summer abroad together in Nice, France. They have been best of friends ever since. In 2012 they decided to commemorate their classic WASP lifestyles by putting together a compilation of "Things WASPs Love."
