I am a descendant of Thomas (Sayer) Sawyer of North Carolina, The Gillilands (Gilleans) of Northern Ireland and all who follow their lines through Daniel Sawyer, Mark Miller, William Gregory, John Gillean, Archibald Dyer, Jesse Shelton, my grandparents, M.V. Buren and Tishie Shelton Sawyer, and my father, Martin Arthur Sawyer.
