This is Kate’s first published children’s book. It has been nominated for an award at the Children’s Information Book award ceremony in London, later this year.



Kate lives in Leeds and always enjoyed writing when she was younger. She used to spend every evening reading and then making up her own stories.

When she went to Secondary school, she became fascinated in the history of Leeds and decided to study history at university. This is where she learnt all about the different types of buildings in the area and gathered her knowledge to write this book.
