As an English and Economics student at the University of Georgia, I have had the rare opportunity to join the MPG Ranch staff for eight weeks this summer to learn about the unique operations of this conservation property. I plan to tie a communications and economics background into environmental work after graduation, and I hope that this internship will provide for me a working history with organizations in the restoration and preservation field. I have delved waist-deep into environmental law and U.S. conservation practices these past few weeks, and I am more excited than ever to continue learning about the processes, those both within an organization and those governed by the state and federal government, that support such projects as this one I witness every day.
