Michelle Hicks was born in 1973 in San Diego, Californiaand later moved to Dayton, Ohio. She mentally escaped her troubled childhood through writing and drawing. She was awarded an scholarship to the Dayton Art Institute after winning an art contest. In 1991, she dropped out of school, however, in 1992, she recieved her
G. E.D. from Patterson Career Academy two months after giving birth to her first of 4 sons.

Her poetry reflects her hard life, relationships and society issues in an manner and style thats blunt, bold and realistic.

She quit her job to stay at home with her 4 sons and fulfill her passion to become a published writer/poet, in her spare time she enjoys feeding
her addictions to Cherry Coke, clearance racks and Facebook.
