Julie E. Fitzgibbons was born and raised in Cavendish, Vermont. She grew up around the fire station as her father was appointed fire chief of the town's volunteer department just before she was born. Julie's father, Raymond Fitzgibbons, served as chief for over 17 years. At the age of 14, Julie joined her father's department as a junior firefighter. At the age of 17, she transferred her membership to the Proctorsville Volunteer Fire Department where she has served as a volunteer firefighter since 2004.
Julie obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Communication Sciences from the University of Vermont in 2009. She is currently employed as an Emergency Communications Specialist at the Ludlow Police Department, continues to volunteer for the Proctorsville Fire Department, and volunteers as an EMT-Intermediate for the Ludlow Ambulance Service. Along with her interest in emergency services, Julie also holds interests in camping, alpine skiing, baking, and American Sign Language.
