Kelly S. Ghani lives in West Valley, NY with her husband Jameel and their two dogs, Kyah and Lucky. Kelly is a survivor herself and wrote this book so that others who experienced similar trauma may understand that it is not their fault. Feeling responsible for the abuse one suffered is very common among child survivors of sexual abuse. Kelly did not tell her parents about the abuse she experienced until she was a young adult. When she did tell, she realized that "letting go" of that secret was the first step in her own healing process, a step necessary for her to move forward, set healthy goals, and establish meaningful relationships with others-family and friends alike. Kelly hopes that this story will encourage others to come forward about abuse, shame, guilt, fear of telling, and eventually inner peace. As too many people already know, life without inner peace can be very lonely.
