The author has had many years of story telling. She spent her years as a mom creating stories for her children at bedtime. As a grandmother, she has continued to create and tell stories to her grandchildren when they come for overnight visits. "I learned that the best way to get the children settled in was to read one story with the light on and to tell another made up story with the light off. As I've continued this routine with my grandchildren, I found that they want to hear the same story I told them the last time they visited. It made sense to finally create the stories in book form."
