Mr. Bates is a dedicated Son, Father, American and Friend and a true southern gentleman in addition to being a devoted member of The Son of Confederate Veterans and he actively supports his local camp.

John has made educating the general population on the true history of the War Between the States one of his lives mission. This commitment is forged in John’s Confederate heritage as he comes from long line southern descendants and is dedicated to uncovering not only his genealogy but the military and political history, causes and consequences of the War Between the States.
