She graduated from the Institute of Children's Literature in 2010. When King passed away, Donavan Miller, Monique Moses, Thalia West, and Angel Aviles and encouraged her to share King's escapades with dog lovers around the world, Valerie jumped at the opportunity. She is very excited about publishing her first children's book!
