While humanity has gained extraordinary advances in medicine, communication, transportation, and technology, the book asks whether we have also lost something along the way—patience, community, respect for our elders, compassion, and genuine human connection.

It is not a romanticization of the past, nor a rejection of progress. It is a question about what progress truly means. If we have learned to build better machines, have we also learned to become better human beings? And what will the people of 2126 say about the choices we made today?
