About the Book

Don't fool yourself. Africa is not a hopeless case. Africa is not a country, but a continent with fifty-four countries. The West would like to perpetuate a stereotype to justify neo-colonialism to pacify their curious people. The East is joining the racial profiling bandwagon. Both at their peril. Some Western countries leech on Africa, their survival as vibrant societies depending on Africa. No matter what propaganda and machinations are wrought upon this continent of immense beauty and resources endowment Africa will continue to rise. These poems try to give the world a small view of Africa that is buried in the cacophony of negative. Come be black with me, for me, and with me. Welcome to Mama Africa. Titambire. Svikayi zvenyu. (You are welcome!)

I am just an average guy observing the world. The miseducation of the people. The prejudices were resultant from this sustained miseducation and the toll it takes on the peace and security of the world. Being a hands-on type of person I ask myself what I can do, in my small way, to try to reverse the negativity. Being an engineer, I write a poem. Enjoy my poems. I am a Zimbabwe Engineer by profession, a poet by induction, and a father of two grown adult kids, Dananayi and Mudiwa Nathasia. Born June 18, 1964, and seen what I have seen. Experienced what I experienced. The bulk of my life I spent with my wife facing the knife and strife, it's like my ribs were taken from her to fashion my breathing allowing me to breed. There are more rhymes and alliteration in this book. Welcome to my Africa.
