I am a 22 year old Down Syndrome girl who has worked hard her whole life to fit into normal society. I was born at Ft. Bragg NC which makes me a "Military Baby". When I was young I worked real hard to become what you would call "Normal" the only difference is that my "Normal" required me to go to Physical Therapy at the age of 6 weeks and to start Occupational Therapy at the age of 1. I also started Speech Therapy when I was 2 years old. I was lucky enough to have a family that cared enough to treat me just like everyone else. Because of that I have been able to accomplish many things such as playing baseball every since I was 8 years old. I was also the first Down Syndrome girl to make the Lexington High School basketball team. I scored in several games and the local news channel decided to do a story on me. I was the cover story for a local magazine in my town. I have decided to use the rest of my life to help others in my position to succeed.
