Nelson Mesias, known artistically as Nelson Brian, is a self-taught visual artist born in Manila and now based in Victoria, BC. His journey—from growing up in Pasay City to discovering painting in Canada—shapes the emotional depth of his work. With no formal training, Nelson taught himself through YouTube tutorials and art exhibits, developing a style rooted in nature, memory, and quiet intensity.
His debut art book, Artful Obsession, is a visual diary of fixation, feeling, and transformation. Nelson’s work blends acrylics, watercolors, and pastels into vibrant compositions that reflect resilience, love, and imagination.
