The authors of this book are 20 first and second graders. These students are curious about the world around them. The project began in Social Studies when the students listed what they knew about Asian countries. Next, they generated questions about what they wanted to learn. The children created 4 teams and began to research the countries they decided to learn more about: China, Japan, India, and Singapore. There was great discussion about how to organize the information into a book once the research was completed. This book is a combination of all of the suggested ideas. Everyone was excited to create our informational text features as we have been learning about these in reading. We hope you enjoy our first collaborative informational text!
