Belinda explores both the possibilities and the impossibilities of life through narration and abstraction. In recent years, she has been working to balance abstraction with the narrative in art. The work has layers and sometimes has hidden images and symbols that only reveal themselves when studying the pieces. She has a strong commitment toward exploration in her artwork, both within the materials and the imagery. Keeping the work fresh and dynamic is a very important quality to her. She uses a wide variety of materials including, oil, acrylic, watercolor, collage, printmaking and encaustic, and is constantly searching for inspiration through observation and experience to enliven her work. She has a strong connection to nature and seeks to understand, through her work, how we as humans interact with our natural surroundings. She hopes that her paintings will spark the viewers’ imaginations to search for deeper insights within and around themselves to live fully and compassionately.
