"Black Girl Blues" is Shavonna's personally Heart picked collection of poems from her journal that represents the emotional, disarray and empowering wandering through her experiences of Womanhood and relationships all told in three expressive parts.

Part one "She's never been whole, but in pieces" symbolizes the dealings with an absent father , sexual abuse and permiscuity. Part two " A love that hurts" tells a painful yet relatable story on the insight of a broken heart and domestic abuse ; filled with bitterness, anger and hurt. And Lastly Part three " Incomplete Self-discovery" personifies her true discovery of self- love , acceptance of the slow pace of self truth and personal growth and peaces.
