Blue Ridge Reflections is a collection of photographs, poems, and aphorisms that celebrates the environment of natural wonders around the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina.
Patricia Joynes has published photographs in four of her husband’s books, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Blowing Rock, North Carolina annual calendars, a National Geographic online story, and in numerous literary journals.
Monty Joynes is the author of more than twenty books that include novels, biographies, and non-fiction. The most extensive use of his poetry has been libretti for an oratorio and an opera set to music by internationally acclaimed composers.

Thirty years ago Patricia fulfilled a lifelong dream to live in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and with the introduction of a digital camera, she began an unrestricted exploration of her true love—nature photography. She captures nature’s glory in a moment that also conveys her deep heartfelt emotional connection to the site. Patricia has had multiple photos in 4 Blowing Rock, NC calendars including the 2016 cover. She furnished covers for two books and the inaugural edition of Evening Paper, a medical journal. In 2015, her photo was selected for National Geographic’s online “Inside Access” story. Her photos have appeared in 4 editions of the County Lines Literary Journal (2015-2019) and in 3 editions of Blue Ridge Parkway calendars.
Patricia and her husband Monty have been residents of Watauga County, NC since 1985.
Monty Joynes is the author of 22 published books, in addition to screenplays and classical music libretti for two grand operas and an oratorio.
