A cotton candy ship arrives on the shore of Maine. A washed up pirate hatches a plan to steal the fantastical ship with the unicorn horn. Little does he know that he has met his match in fiery 7-year-old Captain Elaine and her rainbow bandana crew.

This mother-daughter duo love concocting magical tales while hiking in the woods in their hometown of Berkeley, California. Their first book takes inspiration from a summer trip to coastal Maine where they met ghosts, schooners, and pirates. Their black cat Goldie is always along for the ride and often makes a secret appearance.
