Ryan Dube interviewed Carolyn Muscarella Nielsen in 2012 for a school project his sophomore year in high school. The paper was written as a work of fiction based on a true story. He received an A for the project which led to the creation of this book. His sister, Lauren Dube illustrated the story in 2014.

Ryan and Lauren Dube collaborated on this story as a birthday present for Carolyn Marie Muscarella Nielsen (aka, "Muppy"). Ryan Dube wrote this as a school assignment in 2012 his sophomore year at Richardson High School. Lauren Dube completed the illustrations her junior year in 2014. She honed her art skills in the Studio Art Magnet at RHS.
