Chalk Talk - Scat the Hat

During morning circle time my Pre-K students will participate in an activity about our body differences. I will introduce the activity using turn and talk with my students. They will turn to their partner and talk about things that are different about each other like: their hair color, skin color, eye color etc. After our turn and talk I will have the students turn towards the chart board. We will begin our Chalk Talk activity as I read to them, Scat The Cat, and illustrate pictures as I read. After reading the story I will discuss with my students the moral of story which is that it is okay to be different. Our different characteristics make us special in our own way.
