Jessie's dad and sister were both killed in a tragic car accident. She losses trust in her mother who never got back her confidence. Jessie gets into an argument and her mom leaves. She doesn't return for days and Jessie worries. The cops call to tell her, her mother was killed in a fire. She is sent to her rich non-likable godmother Gretchen's house.
