Chester is afraid to go to sleep because of the monsters that he sees each night before bed. After mustering up all of his bravery, Chester discovers that the monsters really just want to play.

Donna Glausier teaches reading and English at a small school in Chelsea, Alabama. While raising her children, she began to tell stories about a little boy named Chester, who went on mighty adventures. These stories soon became the most requested ones every night before bed. She used these stories to help her children grow their imagination and develop a love of reading. She now tells Chester stories to her granchildren. Once again, the Chester adventures are the most requested stories at bedtime.
