About the Book

On Fathers Day we all got one of the biggest, fuzziest surprise in the world. My cousins, Alex and Danielle were coming back from their 2-day vacation in Massachusetts, but this wasn't the surprise, the surprise was that they were bringing back a fuzzy German Sheppard pup! We were all very excited when we heard this, as you see, no body in our family had every had a pet dog, the closet we ever got was petting them at Pet Smart on adoption day. We were all happy, except my sister and my younger cousin, Annie. They were mad and even though they didn't actually say it out loud, we knew that they were jealous, and they thought that it wasn't fair. But I quickly turned there frown upside down, when I told them that if our cousins get a dog it's like we get a dog that we don't have to take care of or pay for. We just play with him, every time we go over there house, which is about every day. At that point they were really happy know.

We were all impatiently waiting for there arrival. When they finally came to the Father's Day party, at around 8pm, we took a sniff of the dog and backed away. The poor 4 week old pup was smelling horrible, and was not at all happy. He had the saddest look in his eyes and looked frightened. Danielle had then explained to us that he was bullied by his older brother and sisters and had tapeworms. None of us wanted to hold him at this point and we just let him wonder around the deck. After about a week Chico, which means baby boy in Spanish, was now a Chica, as said by the vet.

"Mom!, Chicaahh peed again!" I would hear my cousin, Danielle or Nina, as I like to call her whine/scream. Chica at the other hand would just stare at you with her big puppy eyes as if she was begging you not to tell anyone. Chica was a little trouble maker, who loved to run and play, and would cry every time anyone would leave her alone. She loves to chase balls and basically anything that moves.

We learned one of the biggest puppy tacking lessons in one of Alex's soccer games. It all started when she saw the ball. Then all misery broke free and she sprinted towards it, at that point everyone was cracking up and I was forced to run after her, tripping a few times, and screaming sorry to everyone. Especially to the goalie who was running in circles with the ball, which made Chica even more jumpy and started chasing him. I felt really embarrasses, but when she finally got the ball she ran off with it then look back at us looking so proud of herself. From that day on we can never, EVER leave the house with out her favorite tennis ball to distract her with, just in case she ever got the urge to chase another ball again, which has happened basically every single day.

She won't let you sweep, mop, vacuum, shovel, or clean in any way without going crazy I remember the day that we were in charge of walking around the pond and she jumped in, I was horrified because she was just 2 months old, but she swam right out, with a tennis ball in her mouth, shook herself off, and ran towards the guess with a face of murder and scared them all away.

Chica had quickly stole the hearts of the whole family when she first arrived at the party last Summer. She was one of those puppies you could not help but to stare at. At 3 weeks old she was consistently playing fetch. At two months old the little stinker had figured out how to unlatch the back yard gate. So they started him in obedience classes in Pet Smart at three and a half months, which she just graduated out of, last Saturday, but it seemed as she didn't learn anything, Chica would just play and chase around flies in the class, not even knowing what was going on, the good part about this class was that she learned how to sit, which I taught her when she turned 2 weeks old, and she got to take pictures with a graduation hat on, but the bad news is it wasn't her hat, she actually failed and now has to retake the class.
