Her career took off in the 1970s, where she toured extensively as a backup vocalist for Sir Elton John and Rod Stewart, and contributed lead vocals to the soundtrack of the 1978 film Grease, earning a Grammy nomination for the latter. Despite these successes and another Grammy nomination for her album, "Desire Wire", that includes Survivor, Bullens found it challenging to establish herself as a solo artist due to the music industry's narrow expectations for female performers at the time.
Bullens's life has been marked by significant personal challenges, including battling substance abuse, going through a divorce, and the tragic loss of her younger daughter to cancer. Out of this despair, she released her award-winning album Somewhere Between Heaven and Earth, which helped relaunch her career.

Cindy Bullens was an American singer-songwriter, best known for her work as a backing vocalist for prominent artists like Elton John and Rod Stewart, her contributions to the Grease movie soundtrack, and her critically acclaimed solo albums.
Sad news: After her last album, "Howling Trains and Barking Dogs", the recognizable female gender of Cindy was killed by an unexpected transition and surgery when being replaced with Cidny, looking unrecognizable.
