Rick Burnett Baker, a native Texan, is a graduate of State University of New York (Albany) with a BA in Asian Studies and Classical Chinese Literature, a Graduate Certificate in US Urban Policy, and a Masters (MRP) in Regional and Urban Planning, Third World. Baker has lived and worked in Honduras, Saudi Arabia and throughout Southeast Asia, China and Northern Africa while based in Singapore. He returned to the US in 1985 to complete academic interests and lives in New York.
From 2013 to the present, Baker has exhibited his narrative photography and poetry in three Rochester, New York exhibits, and has been published in the New York Finger Lakes Travel Guide, and the Finger Lakes Adventure Guide. In 2017 he was a finalist for City News’ “Best of Rochester” for his book of original poetry and photography, ’bird can sing’, in the Best New Book category.
