Writing this cookbook had been a complete joy for me, as I have written it during my engagement to my wonderful husband. I wanted to have a collection of yummy dishes to make for me and my new family. So,naturally I turned to my family,my church family, and to the Kilgore family. And I've included easy family dishes like my Ritzy Chicken,Cousin Megan's Tuna Dip,and Momma's Sunday Pot Roast.
In addition, there are recipes for special family holiday dinners,church fellowships,and romantic candlelit dinners.
With these easy recipes, I've learned how to carry on family traditions, warm hearts and bellies of the ones I love, and so can you.

As a new young wife,growing up living in the South, I know better than anyone that to be a good Southern wife you've got to know how to cook. But I began to notice that every young woman around me was giving up on the loving art of cooking. So, when I got engaged I immediately ran to my mother and grabbed all of her recipes and even asked all of my shower guests to bring their favorite recipe so I could begin to build up a collection of wonderful delicious dinners for me and my new husband.
I come from a long line of great cooks and I'm NOT going to let it die with them.
