Curiosity Kills is about a family with one goal, to survive the disaster that is happening to their town. Their story is told through the voice of their 14-year-old daughter, Quorraline who ends up right in the middle of everything. It's up to her to fix everything that can still be fixed.
This was my first attempt at the horror/thriller genre. Since science fiction is where I'm most comfortable writing, I decided to make this a blend of both. Though reading this now, I wouldn't say it is exactly scary, but it was pretty good for a first attempt.
Looking back at the way the characters were feeling and reacting in this book, I can relate more to it now than I could when I was writing it. Without spoiling anything, I can tell you that these characters end up under lockdown, just like everyone was in those months in 2020, just like I am right now as I'm writing this passage. I definitely had a habit of writing things the way I would imagine them to be. I don't think I was too far off.

RE Lavender is currently a senior in high school. She's been writing since she was old enough to hold a pen, and she's always enjoyed it. She loves creating new worlds for her readers to enjoy and creating characters for readers to get attached to. She always finds herself re-reading her own books, so she can get lost in them over and over again. That is one of the best feelings for her, getting engrossed in a good novel. She wants others to have that feeling when they read the books she's written.
