More than 50 years ago a young Seventh-day Adventist minister, Bruce Price, published a booklet called "God's Channel of Truth - Is It the Watchtower?" Later he published "Our Friends: the Jehovah's Witnesses." Price's efforts are consistently critical of the doctrines and teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses.
In particular, he paints a picture of chaotic change in the Witnesses' beliefs and expectations. By contrast, he presents Adventists' teachings as moving smoothly from strength to strength.
This analysis finds that Jehovah's Witnesses have never claimed divine inspiration. Instead, their literature is the imperfect result of relentless Bible study. They actually embrace change when it is necessary.
Despite Price's criticism of the Witnesses and despite having a supposedly inspired prophet, his own denomination is founded on change. Price himself contributed to a book bemoaning many of these changes.
Our comments are not only a defense but a call to fairness.
